The Living Church of God Reviews the Good News of Jesus Christ

The Living Church of God (LCG) is dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ’s coming Kingdom and delivering a bold “warning trumpet” of God’s impending judgment. Guided by biblical principles, the Living Church of God calls for repentance and spiritual transformation, striving to practice original Christianity as taught by Jesus Christ and His Apostles. This includes the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath and annual Holy Days as outlined in the Bible. Members of the Living Church of God view themselves as the spiritual heirs of the original Jerusalem Church of the first century.

Living Church of God Reviews the Legacy of the Leadership Team

The Living Church of God

Dr. Roderick C. Meredith

Dr. Roderick C. Meredith served as the first Presiding Evangelist for the Living Church of God. He was one of the original evangelists ordained by the late Herbert W. Armstrong in December 1952. For over 64 years, Dr. Meredith proclaimed the truth of God through television programs, booklets, magazine articles, and evangelistic campaigns across the United States, Canada, and the British Isles. His leadership established a firm foundation for the Church’s mission and outreach.

Gerald Weston

In 2016, after consultation with the Council of Elders, Dr. Meredith appointed evangelist Gerald Weston as his successor and president of the Living Church of God. Ordained as a minister of Jesus Christ in 1971, Mr. Weston has served congregations throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has contributed extensively to the Church’s publications, trained numerous ministers, and been a longstanding member of the Church’s Council of Elders. Following Dr. Meredith’s death in May 2017, Mr. Weston assumed the role of Presiding Evangelist. Supported by faithful brethren and ministers, he continues to fulfill Jesus Christ’s command to preach the good news of the coming Kingdom of God and to sound the warning trumpet of repentance and spiritual change worldwide.

The Necessity of Trials for Growth

The Living Church of God reviews that while He does protect His children, this protection does not mean a life free from trials. The Bible is filled with examples of those whom God allowed to be tested so that they might draw closer to Him and develop His character more fully. Our Father in Heaven, as a perfect and loving father, always uses the smallest degree of trial necessary to teach the lesson He wants us to learn. No matter how difficult the trial, it is important to remember that our merciful Father in Heaven does not take joy in our suffering but intends for us to draw close to Him (cf. Ezekiel 33:11).

God’s desire is to protect His sons and daughters (Matthew 23:37). Through His law, we are guided on paths of life (Psalm 119:97–105), which, when followed, keep us from pitfalls and allow us to escape the trouble that will come upon the whole world (cf. Revelation 3:10).

The Coming Time of Trouble

Scripture describes a coming time of trouble as worse than anything that has ever occurred since the beginning of the world (Matthew 24:21). This paints a very dark picture when considering all the savagery that has taken place throughout history. It is unsettling to realize that a time is coming that will be worse than the bleak days of World War I and World War II. Having personally toured a Nazi concentration camp, it is chilling to think of a time worse than that.

However, by God’s mercy, there will be a group of people who are protected in the wilderness during that dark time ahead, just before Christ’s return (cf. Revelation 3:10; 12:14). The question remains: Will you be among those protected, who will escape the great tribulation to come?

Preparing for Protection

To learn how to be among the protected, it is crucial to seek guidance and understanding through faith and Scripture. The Living Church of God offers resources to help believers navigate these challenging times. By watching the telecast “The Watchman’s Warning” and exploring the free booklet Armageddon and Beyond, individuals can gain insights into ensuring their safety through God’s protection.

Understanding and preparing for these events requires faith, diligence, and a commitment to God’s teachings. The lessons learned from personal experiences of protection and trials, as well as the wisdom offered through scripture and religious guidance, can help believers face the future with confidence and hope.

The Living Church of God remains unwavering in its mission to proclaim the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ and to call for repentance and spiritual transformation. Through its global telecasts, publications, and dedicated ministry, the Church continues to influence lives, uphold original Christian practices, and prepare the world for God’s Kingdom. With a rich legacy and a commitment to future generations, the Living Church of God endeavors to fulfill its divine mandate and inspire believers worldwide.
